Best Workplaces in Travel is back for 2024

Last year's winners include easyJet holidays and Jet2holidays

An initiative aimed at recognising top travel employers Best Workplaces in Travel is back for another year and is urging companies in the sector to enter its 2024 awards scheme.

The people-led initiative was introduced two years ago with a view to help drive employee engagement, share insights and showcase the travel industry as an aspirational workplace.

It uses values elicitation technology powered by Korero and remains the only employee engagement survey dedicated to the travel industry and is the only survey that asks its employees what’s important to them.

The employees then rate their employer as to how their company performs in these areas, plus answer several killer questions, including an employee net promoter score.

Entrants will receive a comprehensive employee survey and insights and the top 30 employers will be recognised at an award reception next year in London on June 10, 2024.

Last year’s winners were: Small Company – Panache Cruises; Mid-Size Company – easyJet holidays; and Large Company – Jet2holidays.

In 2023, it saw a 50% increase in entries, with more than 5,000 employees completing the survey as well as the business travel sector participate.

In 2024, the survey will also include the Inbound and Expedition Cruise sectors will also be invited to participate.

Car rental brands also expressed interest and therefore be "strategically important sectors" in the 2024 survey, insights and awards.

The initiative is supported by brands including Focus Travel Partnership, the Association of Car Rental Industry Systems Standards (Acriss), UKInbound and Expedition Cruise Network.

They join last year's ambassadors: AITO, BTA, ABTOT, CLIA and Future You Foundation.

Joss Croft, OBE, CEO of UKinbound, said: “We are delighted to be collaborating with Best Workplaces in Travel and that for the first time this year, those working in the UK’s inbound tourism industry can shine a positive spotlight on their employers.

"These awards are a credit to our industry and the businesses and individuals that uphold it, and we look forward to hearing who the winners are, and the inspiring stories that surround them, in 2024.”

Travel companies can apply to participate, with an early bird offer, to enter at last years’ prices between December 4-31, 2023, before a price increase to reflect the technology and resources evolvement.

Best Workplaces in Travel has also just finished its rebrand project and has a new website.
