Memo, Week of Oct. 1st!

Tonight is our booster meeting to finalize all of the information for Saturday's competition. Please plan on attending our meeting tonight @ 7PM!

Wednesday, Oct. 3rd: The High School Band has been given permission to travel to Lee Eaton to perform for the incoming 5th grade band students! We participated in this event last year, and students and teachers at Lee Eaton thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The band students will be dismissed from class at 10 AM and come to the band room to dress into their uniforms. We will depart for Lee Eaton at 10:15 AM, perform from 10:30-11:00 and return back to the high school by 11:15. If there is a parent that would be interested in traveling with us, that would be wonderful!

Thursday, Oct. 4th: 6-9 PM Rehearsal, 50 points: We will be around from 5:00 on so that students can hold sectionals.

Friday, Oct. 5th, 100 pts: Football Game vs. Hudson @ home: Doors will open @ 5:45 PM, 6:15 attendance, 6:30 Block Band, 6:45 March to stadium.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 6TH!!! 100 POINTS: Band Report time: 3:00 PM we will get into uniforms and take attendance. We perform @ 4:45 PM. The actual show begins @ 2:00 PM.

Well October is just about here and that means that band card money is due. I need it by 10/8 at the latest. Please send the money and/or unsold cards with your student to either the football game tonight, or to school with them during the upcoming week. You can also bring it Monday evening to the Band Aids meeting. We still have over 60 kids who need to pay for their cards. If you band student would rather, they can give me the money in the HS cafeteria anytime between 9:00 and 1:45. Please make sure it is in an envelope with their name on it please. If you are not sure how much you owe, call me at 330-468-0323 or email me at
shellbrook@roadrunner.com and I will give you your total due.

Please forward the attached order form to all parents to add a personal "note" to their son or daughter in our OMEA Festival of Bands Program.
Also, please forward our OMEA Program Ad letter as parents may wish to take this to their employer and ask them to place an ad in our program, as well.

The parade yesterday was a great success, and the weather was fantastic! Thanks for making the event run so smoothly!

Thursday, September 20, 6-9 PM Rehearsal, 50 points: Please make sure that you arrive to the rehearsal at the scheduled time. A group of students were late to rehearsal last Thursday and their grade was reduced by 5 points. Rehearsal begins @ 6:00 PM and the doors are always open with plenty of preparation time so that there is ample time to enter the band room and get your instrument out for the beginning of the rehearsal. Doors will open to the band room @ 3:30 to allow students an opportunity to test music that afternoon... FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED ON THURSDAY AFTERNOON!

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 IS OPEN HOUSE! WE'LL SEE YOU THERE!

Sectionals are encouraged to be held on Thursdays or Fridays before rehearsal or performance. Each sectional is worth 25 points.

Friday, Football vs. Twinsburg, AWAY, 100 pts.: Doors will open @ 4:00 PM. REMEMBER, THE SCHOOL DOES NOT ALLOW STUDENTS TO REMAIN IN THE CAFETERIA PAST 3:30 pm! PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY! THANK YOU! Uniform room will open @ 5:30 pm, instrument bus @ 5:45, load students @ 6:00 pm.

Saturday, Competition hosted by Crestwood High School, 10919 Main Street, Mantua, OH 44255, 100 pts: The band room will open the doors to students @ 4:00 PM, instrument bus will arrive around 4:45, load student buses @ 5:00 PM and depart for Crestwood. The show officially begins @ 6:30 PM. We want to arrive to Crestwood around 6:00 PM to prepare for official warm-ups that begin for Nordonia @ 7:00 PM. NHS will perform at the competition at 8:00 PM. Awards Ceremony is slated to begin around 9:30 PM.

Rt. 82 east through Macedonia, Twinsburg and Aurora to Mantua.

Turn Right on Rt. 44 South for approximately 1.5 miles.

Crestwood High School is located on the right hand side of the road.
